Located in Central Europe, Hungary, in
the district of the famous tourist resort of Lake Balaton,
the European castle was built around 1725, originally as a country
manor home for the Jankovich-Bésan family. Following extensive
restoration, the castle opened in 2002 as a fully licensed 3 star
castle hotel, Gesztenye Kastélyhotel, maintaining
the grandeur of it's history.
The castle hotel comprises 25 rooms, all with
full ensuites, telephone, colour televisions and mini-bars. Also
to be found are the mural-walled restaurant, function room suitable
for events such as conferences or weddings, wine cellar suitable
for functions, Transylvania Bar, sauna and competition size billard
table. Outside guests can enjoy the 16 metre pool, tennis court,
football ground, horse-riding arena, riding stables, fishing lake,
grotto, and the 10 hectare castle parkland and forest.
